Access IAF’s Walking Tour App for Downtown Des Moines

Great news for architecture buffs living in or visiting Des Moines! DSM Hack, a philanthropically-minded group of techies, created the Architecture@Hand Walking Tour App for your mobile device. It includes five architectural tours of downtown Des Moines. All you have to do is follow this link to access it from your smartphone:

https://www.iowaarchfoundation.org/IAFTours

You can access the tours by name: East, South, West, North and Western Gateway. Or, if you are standing by a building and want to know more about it, click on your location and the building’s profile will pop up with a photo and audio description generously donated by KFMG founder, Ron Sorenson. Thanks to Workiva’s team of volunteers created the app at the DSM H ackathon in 2017.

To create a shortcut on your phone for the app so you have it easily accessible at all times, do the following, but remember it’s in BETA stage for now. Let us know if you have problems by contacting Claudia Cackler, director@iowaarchfoundation.org.

  1. Click the Share button at the bottom of the screen.
  2. Click the Add to Home Screen button.
  3. Click Add in the top-right corner.
