Skandia Block (The Continental / Kitchen Collage)

428-430 E Locust St

Construction Date: 1882 by J.A. Carlson

430 was remodeled by DM Glass & Paint in 1950

Each half is a unique 428 is recessed and 430 is flush. The window hoods are different but, the exterior party walls have matching quoin-like patterning.

430 was built in 1882 and the west half after.

Skandia Hall was on the second floor of the building and served as a Swedish cultural center.

The lower level housed the Lindquist-Holt Hardware in 1901-1911
