Red Bridge & Observation Deck

Completed: 2006

Once a carrier of train traffic, the Union Railroad Bridge today provides a scenic pedestrian link over the Des Moines River from the east to the west, and back again.

Completed in summer 2006 it was painted its original color “caboose red”.

The bridge features cantilevers on each side allowing pedestrians to stop and enjoy the view.
