The DeVotie-Baker-Hollingsworth Block is comprised of three double front buildings. The east building was built in 1878, and the west two buildings in 1893. Anderson Furniture was located there between 1921 and 1955, and they covered the entire structure with a concrete plaster to resemble limestone blocks in an attempt to modernize. In 1980 the new owner, urban pioneer and advertising executive, Jim Boyt, began the restoration the building, including re-molding the window hoods. This was long before this now hip and lively area was known as East Village. The project was completed in 2003. This building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1978 and 2007.
