Built in 1894, this Romanesque Revival was the last remaining row house on the East Side and one of four left in the city. It was the home of Samuel Green, who owned the largest foundry in Des Moines. In 2013 it was moved to current location from 709 East Locust Street.  Norden Hall served Scandinavian community groups – the Norden Singing Society (Swedes), the Danish Brotherhood, the Danish Sisterhood and the Sons of Norway – who had a desire to establish their own separate social and fraternal institutions. Its 2014 renovation was conducted by Christensen Development and Slingshot Architecture.
