Built in 1919, this hotel was designed by the Chicago firm H.L. Stevens Company, and was the third building with the Savery name. It is Georgian Revival style, using red brick and limestone. Unique for its time, each room had a private bath. The Savery served as the induction center and supplemental barracks for WAACs during WWII. The penthouse added in the 1950’s for the owner. It was placed on National Register of Historic Places in 1998. The hotel just finished a complete renovation in 2019.
